Hamish Fulton - Walking ArtistThe artistic work of Hamish Fulton (born 1946) is a result of his “aimless“ wanderings, the so-called “Rambles“. His approach differs from the Land Art. Fulton does not install artefacts in the landscape, his goal is to deliver a new experience in the perception of our natural environment.
The sensual experiences the artist goes through are naturally abstract for the audiences in museums and galleryies. The artist reproduces them with the help of photographs, sketches and texts, documenting the marks of his walks with the help of data, thoughts and connotation. This publication is the first survey of three decades of artistic walks by Hamish Fulton. Besides 100 mostly coloured illustrations this volume includes an interview the artist held with the landscape photographer Phil Bartlett. All texts are reproduced in german and english. 152 p., 111 ills., hardback original price € 65,00 € 25,00 |
